The Other Guys Preview

The Other Guys is set to hit theatre's August 6, 2010.  I've been looking forward to this film for some time now.  Here is the plot for the movie:   NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don't get tattoos - other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You've seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They're not heroes - they're "the Other Guys." But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City's biggest crime. It's the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?

Toy Story 3 Movie Review

I went out to see Toy Story 3 yesterday afternoon with my 3 year old girl to see if it lived up to the expectations of the previous 2. I am happy to say that it did. This was the first movie I had taken my 3 year old to see so I was excited to see her reaction. She was ecstatic and I was quite happy with the movie. There was certainly a lot of buzz about this movie and it didn't disappoint. The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of Woody, Buzz and our favorite gang of toy characters in TOY STORY 3. Woody and Buzz had accepted that their owner Andy would grow up someday, but what happens when that day arrives? In the third installment, Andy is preparing to depart for college, leaving his loyal toys troubled about their uncertain future. Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”) directs this highly anticipated film, and Michael Arndt, the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of “Little Miss Sunshine,” brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities to the proceedings. I decided to not see the movie in 3D as I wasn't sure how my 3 year old would take it. The story was somewhat darker than the previous 2. I thought that was good instead of doing the same old thing. Woody, Buzz, and the gang faced trouble after they were dropped off at the day care. The movie has some sad moments that I won't spoil here. Overall, I give the move 8 out of 10 stars. A great time for kids and parents alike who enjoyed the first 2 of the series.
